NEW LOCATION ALERT πππ
And some context to it of course π β¬οΈ
I moved out of my last apartment in Brooklyn almost exactly a year ago. At that point, I had moved apartments every year for 5 years and did not feel like renting yet another one in NYC again.
"Digital nomading" felt more like leaning into who I already was as opposed to trying something new.
I made a list of people I loved and missed and I started to reach out to see when I can visit them.
I put everything but 2 suitcases into storage and went from Florida to Texas to California to England, Colorado, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland and beyond.
I had never lived in Europe as an adult & always wondered what it would be like.
I ended up spending ~ 5 months in Berlin β‘οΈ I learned a lot, danced a lot, fell in love and started to miss the πΊπΈ more and more.
When Firas Khalifeh π½ and I became friends (then fiances! π we are clearly obsessed with words that start with F π,) we bonded over our experiences as immigrants, outsiders, obsessed with our work, building companies and making a difference in the world through leading by example and building bridges between worlds. π
He's been planning to move to San Francisco/Bay Area for a long time and I jumped on the train accelerating the timeline and apartment hunt.
I am so happy to be officially finalizing this move, spending time IRL with clients, old and new friends (shoutout to my 3 college besties A-team Amelia Kaufman Ari Kepnes Alison E. Berman here) ex-Ogilvy bestie Mabel Liang and of course the Carbon Mobile fam Simon Lancaster πΊπΈπ¨π¦π΅πΉ Sabrina Paseman & so many more.
SF/Bay has been the birthplace of technology and innovation for a reason. The caliber of people and talent is unlike any other place I have ever seen. Our move is still in progress and it already feels like home because of the company around.
Which, as we know, continues to be my only driving force - and we are just getting started. πππππππ
If you live here (or visiting!) pls reach out - I am so excited to meet you IRL.
