My best career advice is
to work for / with people you admire + want to learn from.
I particularly recommend finding founder CEOs who are working on problems you care about.
The title, company, salary are all secondary to that.
Professional relationships and skills developed on the job next to the right people will massively compound interest overtime.
It's true at every level in any industry.
Tiffany Tagle and I always agreed that starting our careers as Executive Assistants to Founder CEOs (her in advertising w/ Scott Goodson and me in culture consulting w/ Brad Grossman) has catapulted both our careers and entrepreneurial ambitions.
Was it glamorous or well-paid at the time?
No. (don't tell them that 😝)
Did we learn how to run a business, lead people and service clients?
Hell yes.
Especially in today's crazy job market: find, follow, follow up with people. Find a way to provide value. Money will follow over time.
